Why Does it Seem Like EVERYTHING is happening in May??? By Azra Halilovic Posted on April 28th, 2010 by

It’s that time of the year again! The grass is green, the flowers are blooming, and the warmth of the sun is beckoning you to come outside and enjoy SPRING. But at the same time, you’ve got to finish up that novel, write a research paper, and study for a test (or two… or three). It’s really not fair. And to make matters worse, May is full of a cornucopia of fun and distracting activities, from concerts to athletic events and banquets. How is it that students are supposed to get anything done and enjoy the last weeks of spring semester?

It’s hard. Believe me, as a senior, I know what it’s like to be scrambling to finish up research papers and actually do a good job on them; to be practicing for and attending a myriad of recitals; and maybe, just maybe, catching some sleep. May is tough, indeed!

But, if it’s a paper that’s adding to your stress, why not bring it over to us? Fortunately, there are no windows in the WC so none of those fun spring activities can distract us, and that means we’ll really be able to get cracking on those papers! (ha, ha, ha…) But in all seriousness… sometimes just talking about a paper—especially when everything seems so overwhelming—is just what you need to tackle it. And that’ll be one less weight off your shoulders, and that’s always a good thing during the busy end of a semester.
